CT Module 2

CT MODULE 2 | Binder Chemistry & Film Formation (3 ECTS) | September 2024

INTRODUCTION CT M2
One important paint component is the resin or binder system, as the selection of the binder system greatly influences the properties of the final coating. The coating technologist strives to select/develop resins that exhibit the desired properties in the coating. An important aspect that influences the final coating properties and quality is film formation and this is influenced by the choice of the binder system. Module 2 aims to provide insight into different resin chemistries, selection of the binder system and the chemical physical processes that play a role during film formation.

FOR WHO?
Module 2 is for researchers, scientists, developers and PhD students interested to learn more about various chemistries used to prepare resins for paints and coatings; and for those who are eager to learn more about how a film is formed after the paint is applied on a substrate.

EXAMINATION
This module is concluded with an open book examination (not obligatory). After passing the exam successfully, you will be awarded a Module 2 certificate.
